Walking on Paulista

On some Sundays (and special holidays) the São Paulo city government shuts down the city’s most famous road, Avenida Paulista, to let the city da um role on the asphalt. Instantly one of the most chaotic streets in world becomes a cul-de-sac where children play. For an afternoon the anonymous become neighbors, the sounds of traffic cede to laughter and old couples show the young ones how to namorar.
