Felipe arrived in Perdizes late. He spoke almost no words (although he is quiet by nature). He didn’t eat or drink. He smoked one, sat alone for a moment and then rose as he tied his toque on his head. He and the Hulluca exchanged a greeting that was more eyes than words. Hulluca had come from far away and would soon leave again. He began to tuck his shirt in his pants and cinch up his belt. Courage laughed and grabbed an instrument. “Those two have something they need to work out” he said. Attempts were made to move the game inside the house, but the two capoeiristas didn’t hear the appeals. They went to the street.
*My apologies to Mr. Costa, who is infinitely more than someones progeny.
